Collada Import/Export Plugin for After Effects
Daz Studio 3 exported to Lightwave via After
Effects plugin.
This animation demonstrates how the plugin can be used as a go
between for collada files that are not compatible with Lightwave.
In this case a Daz Studio collada export was read into After
Effects and then exported for use in Lightwave. This Lightwave
preview render shows the straight import from Daz Studio
on the left and on
the right is the indirect import through After Effects. The
process
makes the skeleton compatible by adding extra joints to solve
the rotation order issue that plagues Lightwave.
Rough outline of the process:
- export a collada file from Daz Studio
- import the file to after effects with scale=1 and 60fps
frame rate
- export the file
- No - scale on export
- No - include zero value transform nodes
- Yes - export marked nulls as joints
- import the file to Lightwave with scale=0.01
- import the original collada file from Daz with no scale
to get the geometry
